I think I’ve mentioned (approximately five or six times) that I’m kind of obsessed with the Enneagram, and I’ve had a few questions about what exactly this is, and why I talk about it so much. So since I’m now writing weekly blog posts about things I’m passionate about, let me introduce you to my biggest non-travel obsession: The Enneagram! In this post, I’m going to (not so) briefly explain what exactly the Enneagram is, why I’m so obsessed with it, and how I’ve been using it for personal growth!
So… you’ve probably noticed I haven’t been writing a lot of blog posts this year. While I used to diligently crank out monthly recaps and helpful travel and teach abroad content, along with the occasional hilarious or adventurous story, I just really haven’t been feeling the passion lately. And… by lately I mean for this entire year.
Over the last two months, I’ve been very busy! Firstly, Chris and I took a quick weekend trip to Kazbegi along the Georgia Military Highway! In addition to that small trip, I attended a baby shower, prevented my cat from dying via surgery, rescued a NEW kitten, launched a new website with Chris, and more!
I used to think that traveling the world was only for young, single people. Like the kind of people fresh out of college with very few responsibilities. Wrong! Families can travel the world and have big adventures too! It will take a little extra planning and preparation, but the payoff will be amazing. Our family is just five people who want to see the world and spend more time with each other.
The following is a guest post by Melody Mukute, a Zimbabwean mother of three and an active member of my China Teach Abroad Community Facebook group. Melody is a certified teacher in Zimbabwe with six years of teaching experience. A few weeks ago Melody reached out to me and asked if she could share her experience teaching in China as an African non-native speaker. Of course, I was happy to share her experience!
Most of you know that I love to travel, I lived in China for quite a while, and I’m location-independent right now. You may also know that I love cats and spicy food. But did you also know I’m a huge nerd? Today I decided to hop off the travel/ expat life train and talk […]
Some of you may have noticed I haven’t done the Freedom Life monthly recaps for these last few months. To be honest, I don’t have much of an excuse for why I’ve taken some time off except for that sometimes you need a little bit of a break. With everything that’s been happening this year […]
Working from home can be a HUGE adjustment, especially if you don’t have a dedicated workspace, or you have other people at home who aren’t working. Well, I’ve been working from home for over two and a half years now and to be honest, it took me quite a while to figure out how to really make it work for me. But thankfully after a few years, I’ve finally figured things out and I can’t wait to share them with all of you to make this time a bit easier!
If you’re looking for an adventurous destination full of hiking, history, wildlife, incredible food, and beautiful scenery, look no further than Sri Lanka! Spot leopards and elephants on safari, try surfing and diving, hike mountains and waterfalls for incredible views, and explore historic Buddhist relics.
This post is current and updated regularly. Last updated as of March 2020! If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me about teaching English in China, I could quit my day job. Teaching English in China is great. I taught for multiple different schools and companies all over China. That said, I […]
